About the Role

As the Project Coordinator, your role is to assist the Project Manager and/or Project Portfolio Manager in ensuring the successful delivery of a project to a satisfied client, on time and within budget. Every project will have a set team of developers assigned to it. You will be tasked with coordinating between the team of developers and the client. You will be responsible for helping teams work through roadblocks, identifying opportunities for value delivery, and ensuring the end product is of the highest quality within the project’s constraints.

This is an opportunity to learn and gain experience within the fast paced technology sector. This position has abundant mentorship, as well as training and certification opportunities.

You will be responsible for…

  • Coordinating with project manager / portfolio manager to assist with client communication regarding project requirements and reported issues
  • Overseeing interaction between developers, testers, and designers, regarding outstanding tickets / user stories
  • Aiding in the process of qualifying and improving tickets / user stories, working with various parties to increase actionability
  • Generating regular reports detailing current state of development team activities, new tickets / user stories, escalated or re-opened / modified tickets
  • Working towards meeting project goals and expectations
  • Participating in development team planning and status meetings
  • Working with the team and client to create project schedules
  • Managing project tasks, schedules and milestones
  • Managing, monitoring, and forecasting project budgets
  • Writing: meeting itineraries, meeting notes, daily comms, etc.

Candidate Requirements

An ideal candidate for the Project Coordinator role is an individual who is detail-oriented, dependable, a problem solver, and a good communicator.

Required skills and experience:

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Public Administration
  • Proven work experience (min. 2-3 years) as a Project Coordinator or a similar role
  • Experience in managing a project from conception to delivery
  • Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
  • Solid organizational skills, including multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Comfort with Mac OSX as well as with general web technologies / software
  • Past experience in an Agile environment is preferred, but not required
